Celebrating Our Independence

This Sunday, July 5, we will celebrate the 244th anniversary of the day we declared our independence as a nation! God has blessed our country, in spite of ourselves, and today more than ever He is calling us to come back to Him. 2 Chronicles 7:14…

If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face,

and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin

   and heal their land.

The point is clear, isn’t it? God is not addressing those who don’t know Him… He is talking to His people, the ones who are called by His name… and that’s us, isn’t it? God is calling us to pray and seek His face and turn from our wicked ways… and then He will hear from heaven and forgive our sins and heal our land. The challenge is clear. Our land will only be healed when we are willing to pray, when we are willing to seek His face, and when we are willing to turn from the wicked ways that are still a part of our lives.

How about this… while we’re celebrating America this weekend… why don’t we declare our independence from Satan, by turning back to God? And then, watch what He will do!

Back to One

Also, on this Sunday, July 5, we are going back to one worship service at 10:30 a.m. We will have more than enough room for everyone who would like to come and worship on campus, and still apply social distancing. I hope to see you there, but as always, make your decision based on what it best for you and your family. The worship service will continue to be live streamed at www.fbcbrandon.org.

Cookies for Cops

This amazing ministry has already touched more than 700 Hillsborough County Sherriff’s Office employees, and we’re just getting started. Thanks for bringing your cards and cookies to the church office. Remember, the

cards may be drawn by children, handmade or store-bought. Put a Bible verse in each card and a note of encouragement. Thank you for sharing Christ with these front liners during these difficult days!

Virtual Vacation Bible School

Pastor James Blewett and his team are doing an awesome job of providing a virtual VBS experience for our kids and kids everywhere. Two more videos to go, one this Sunday, and then one on July 12. Watch for the prep video this week, to get everything you’ll need for this week’s craft, Bible study, recreation and even your snack! Look for the links to the videos in your email or on the church’s Facebook page.

Don’t Forget

Your pastors and ministry team love you and are praying for you. Please don’t hesitate to let us know if we can help you in some way. Just leave a voicemail at 813-689-1204. We are checking those messages several times each day, and we will get back to you. Thank you for being the amazing church family that you are… and as always, keep trusting Jesus!
